Infinite Halves to Get Here

Welcome to my new blog Infinite Halves.

I have a Bachelors in Journalism and a Bachelors in Mathematics, all of which includes undergraduate studies in Physics and Chemistry. I have over 20 years experience as a writer and am gratefully published in a few magazines. My background as a science and technology writer includes time working with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and with Amgen.

My goal in life is to empower anyone who feels that they aren't smart enough. As a kid growing up in the theater, I felt that my life would be limited to entertaining others. Though I relished my science classes and was enamored with my own homebrew chemistry kits, I never considered myself smart enough to be a math or science person. Singing and making others laugh came easy. It wasn't until I entered college and realized how much I loved and enjoyed science and math that my life felt complete. For the first time in my life, as a Physics major, I felt like a whole person. All 4'8" of me!

I chose the name Infinite Halves because my life as a budding mathematician, wife and mom has taken infinite halves to get here. The biggest half is my education. The second biggest half is my life with my genius husband and raising my two wonderful teenage boys. And my third half is my life as a recovering comedian advocating for math and science education. I have a lot more halves, and I look forward to sharing them with you! And, out of respect for my peers and employers, the views of this blog represent my own.

Thank you for checking in! Please bear with me as this blog slowly ramps up while I get through all the infinite halves in my life: graduate school, family life, and PTA. And again, thanks for stopping by!

Gabrielle
